Evelyn trained as a graphic designer at Kingston University. After gaining her degree she turned freelance, producing illustrations and designs for publishers and hotels.

She now paints full-time from her home on the fringes of the New Forest, near to the Waterside town of Hythe, having moved there in 2007 from her home in Devon where she lived for over 30 years.

 Southampton Water, Calshot,  Lepe, Lymington and other coastal locations continue to inspire her pictures of boats, harbours and water reflections.

 Having worked in pencil and watercolour for many years, she has revived a method she first developed at college, using gouache.

 This method is rapidly becoming her signature, with its bold, bright colours and graphic simplicity having wide appeal.
