Denny Dormer

I use only driftwood and pebbles local to me, collected on walks with my lovely old black labrador, Biddy (who often tries to help by picking up a motley collection of sticks and stones!).  These walks provide endless inspiration for my work, whether it's the restful horizontal lines of the sea or the particular shape of a piece of driftwood.  I like to leave the wood as I find it too, smoothed and rounded naturally by the constant motion of the waves.  I then carefully and lovingly create each piece until it is, in my mind, as perfect as it can be.  And because no two pieces of driftwood are the same, varying in colour, size and shape, each piece of Life's A Beach Art is truly unique.
