Beaten Silver Heart on a Silver Chain SP486

Contemporary Beaten Silver Heart on a T-Bar Silver Plated Chain by St. Justin, Cornwall.

This beautiful concave heart pendant measures 1 inch at its widest point and the T-Bar chain measures 18 inches long.

Ancient Celtic artistry lies behind each item of St. Justin silver jewellery. Inspiration often stems from the many beautiful Celtic manuscripts which survive but the intricacy and variety of the designs results from a progressive curiosity. All St. Justin jewellery is crafted by hand and eye in the ancient Cornish tin-mining area of West Penwith on the Land's End Peninsula.

Hearts represent love in all its man aspects. They also symbolise 'having heart', the power of courage and will. To the ancient Egyptians it was the heart, rather than the brain, which was seen as the organ that held the person's soul. Hearts as symbols of love, date from the later medieval period but didn't become an established part of the Celtic repertoire until the last decade of the 20th century.
